Folks
Just bought the above car which comes with a built in hands free telephone system (hft). The car is great however I am having difficulty getting the hft system to work correctly. For an incoming call it is working well (can answer the call with the button on the steering wheel.
Outgoing calls has been my problem to date, I have put 40 numbers into the car memory and the voice recognition system works but is terribly slow!
I have a Nokia 6021 phone and to date I have been unable to dial the number on my phone with my car bluetooth successfully picking ths up i.e realising I am making a call. What happens is my phone dials out like a normal phone call which is no good when I am driving.
Does anybody know what I am doing wrong, please help?

I love my honda accord. It’s 13 years old and runs great, but it doesn’t look so great anymore and I would like to replace it. Problem is I want another Honda because of the reliability and gas mileage, but they just look so boring. I think the cars from Germany are much nicer looking, but I don’t trust their reliability. I’m disappointed with the hybrid Accord’s gas mileage (way too much power) and I’m very disappointed that you can’t get a manual transmission CRV. I’m considering switching to Acura, but that is quite a bit pricier. Does Honda plan to increase the cool factor in its Accord or CRV and will we be able to get a CRV with a stick any time soon?

I hae just bought the 1.8 XS i-shift (last Friday). Twice whilst driving in auto it has just lost power and the circle with an explanation mark has come up where the A or gear number should be. Luckily both times I was able to stop, go into neutral and back into auto.
The car has gone back and they could find nothing wrong or any explanation, saying that this has never happened before. Honda have re-set the computer and it’s fingers crossed. I am a bit concerned that next time it happens will be on the M4 at 6:30! in the outside lane, effectively in neutral!
Has anyone else come across this situation or got any tips to how to get out of it quickly?

has anyone experienced a metallic rattle/clicking noise on crv 2.2. liter diesel engine? The noise is louder at lower revs and when accelerating but still there at 2000 revs or more. It is there as warm and cold engine. The Honda dealer says its normal (maybe he just can’t be bothered dealing with it?) but non honda engineers tell me that the noise does not sound right to them and that id could be from cylinder valves working out of phase, which would be a seroius problem. I have read of other users reporting the same kind of noise but has anyone found out what it is caused by?

I am refering to the new civics computer and settings, according to the manual you can have it set automatically when filling up ,how,is there a sensor at the filler cap? Coming back to mpg figures,I always check my consumption between filling the tank to the top and calculating differance from last time I did it!The computers figures do not match, but having said that, they are only the average taken I think!-will be very interested in other opinions on the setting at fill up tho’.

I just bought a cd player for my car and I can’t suss how to get the dash facia off. Most Honda’s have nice little clips and stuff hidden in strategic spots, but this has beaten me.

Hi,
I’ve got on order the new TypeR - with the satnav/HFT option - My mobile is up for renewal before March..
I’ve looked at http://www.hondahandsfree.com/ but was wondering if anyone has tried any of the following handsets with the Handsfree Telephone kit in the new civic?..
Sony Ericsson W850i
Sony Ericsson W950iI know these aren’t listed on the honda site - but I also know that it doesn’t mean they don’t work - just that they’ve not tested it!
Obviously, I can’t just take the handset and try it in the car as I have neither at the moment
(9 weeks 4 days but who’s counting?)Any opinions would be appreciated.
Regards
Phil

I’ve had this video sent through to me three times this week. Have you seen it? It’s taken at a Japanese technology event during a Honda demonstration of the capabilities of its Asimo robot. I won’t spoil it but you do have to watch the video - http://www.engadget.com/2006/12/11/honda-asimo-takes-a-nasty-fall/
