About Me
Engineer, explorer, dreamer. Persuing my goal of travelling and enjoying my non-work interests full time!
I'm Looking For
People from wherever that I can talk to about common interests, and figure out how to make the world a better and happier place. Seeking intimate friendships in my life.
My Interests
Landscape and portrait photography, travel, reading, writing, alternative-energy, cool new technology, making biodiesel, wine-making, the private space race and mars colonization, stock trading, and topics of spirituality.
Music
Never been too picky there. Anything but gangsta rap. Listen to classical when I need to relax. Fun to listen to radio stations in foreign countries on the internet. Been dabbling around in country lately.
Movies
The Matrix, Total Recall, The 5th Element (Bruce Willis saves the entire world again!), the 6th sense (hmmn, maybe a pattern going here?) -- OK -- so I like Bruce Willis movies!
Television
Who has time for TV? OK -- well, I have been a devout Lost fan. House is pretty cool.. Anything on the Discovery Channel is great -- Myth Busters, Stunt Junkies, Dirty Jobs, Man vs. Wild. Dr. G rocks, too. Also, I like to be entertained with shows like South Park, Futurama, Family Guy.
Books
Favorite author: Michael Crichton Favorite book: "Dark Tower" series by Stephen King Most Relevant: "Red Mars" trilogy by Kim Stanley Robinson Recently, I've been reading stuff by the inventor and futurist, Ray Kurzweil regarding the coming technological singularity. Also stuff that tries to tie scientific and religious ideas together -- like quantum physics and spirituality. Currently reading "Accelerando" by Charles Stross. (A sci-fi story about a family in the time of the singularity)
Heroes
Sir Richard Branson, Elon Musk, Burt Rutan, Robert Bigelow, Ray Kurzweil, Nick Bostrom, Peter Diamandis, Stephen Hawking, Robert Zubrin, Alan Boyle
Ideal job
Science writer/journalist. Bring cool new scientific ideas to the attention of the masses!
