Traffic Police

When a traffic accident has occured, very often it can take many hours to re-open the road, sometimes with reason, but very often one gets the feeling that the police are very ponderous, and seem to be wandering around for hours with their tape measures. For example, recently in my town, an elderly man was knocked off his mobility scooter by a van, I am pleased to say the gentlemen is now stable in hospital. The police closed the road for several hours, causing much rush hour delay, what on earth were they doing for all that time. No wonder some people call  policemen "Mr Plod"
