The reason why tags are useful

It's all about them tags!

I just thought I would put up a quick post to explain why tags are useful when you put your stuff on Woyano.

They make your content easier to find

If you tag stuff correctly it makes it easier for people to find your content when searching or using the tag clouds.

They show the world what you are all about

If anyone views your woyano site they can get a quick understanding of what you are all about by glancing at your tags. For example have a look at Dr. Fallon's Woyano:

And then have a look at Velvet Sky's Woyano:

http://www.woyano.com/velvetskye

Note how the tag clouds give a very good overview of each users different tastes.

This is because the tag clouds are drawn by displaying the tags that you enter most frequently.

How to choose your tags

The important thing about choosing your tags is to be sure thast you use words that are relevent to your article. For example if I was writing an article about the assasination of john lennon I would probably use tags like.

johnlennon, assassination , chapman

Here is an example of bad tags for the same article

the, assassination , of, john, lennon, chapman

The reason is because the and of are not needed and will only serve to muddy your tag cloud!
