After reading this article on the BBC I must say I do feel better about myself. The article take a sample of random men off the street, and measures their BMI (Body Mass Index) and tells them how fat they are.

And they were all obese it seems. As are George Clooney, Matt Damon and Brad Pitt. Unsurprisingly that same test puts me on the wrong side of porky, but when I'm sharing it with such esteemed company it doesn't feel so bad :)

Doctors are asking to change the way they measure obesity because the current way is so inaccurate.
Take an old frail lady, her spine has shrunk and bent a bit, so where she used to be 5'4" she is now only 5'0". She still weighs in at the same weight she was when she was a slender 18 year old, but now she is considered on the border of obese, if you use the old BMI measurements. And she is hopping mad about it!
Yet if you measure her thigh bone and compare that to her weight, she is actually slightly under weight!
Which makes her even more mad because of all those cream cakes she has denied herself because of the false reading!
Yep, you got it, I'm that old lady, well not so much of the lady really, but you can't have everything lol

I don't have any excuses Sue, but articles like this help me brush it under the carpet :-)
