2012 Olympic logo revealed

In case you missed 'Lord Seb' unveiling the new 2012 olympic logo, here it is.


For those of you who thought that we already had a logo (the river thames as a ribbon), that was a competition run in schools countrywide, and therefore amateur (and not costing any noteworthy amount of money) whereas this is clearly a professional job with its £400k price tag.

              By all accounts (as reported on Newsnight tonight), no-one likes it - and yes, they made reference to the Lisa Simpson interpretation as well. The program then proceeded to show a selection of 'alternatives' sent in by BBC viewers. Each and every one of them was better than the offering above. £400,000 to design that? I'm in the wrong trade.
