Facial hair on a guy? Good? Bad? You're indifferent on the subject? Depnds on how much? full beard? evil gohtee-mustache?
I've always wondered. Some weeks I do the evil-gohtee, some days I leave as a maintained "5 o'clock shadow" some days, I shave and reveal my baby-face. =D
What's your thoughts on this?
I'm curious.

but i prefer clean shaven
although there is nothing worse than a straggly, unkemp beard!
I do like it to be neat though- scruffy isn't that cool
y'all are the visual ones.. not us.. hehe.. do you like bananas?
sometimes a beard can make a guy look very distinguished!
i know one such good looking fella (dr. f) hehe
Ah, well. I am old, after all....
But to answer the original question, I have a beard in order to hide my face. Kind of like "Phantom..."
But that's not really very funny, is it....?
you're right it's not very funny, but at least you shared a story. awesome, my night is complete. =)
and it looks very handsome on you dr.
LOL!!!
As my avatar's caption suggests, I'm a bit of a techno-hippie. This often results in me hanging out with a bunch of computer people, and talking smack about politics that they don't like.
So my discovery was that, clean-shaven, they expect a certain level of conformism from me, and are frustrated when I don't 'live up'. With a nice thick unkempt beard, however, they tolerate some deviance from their expected social norm, because they're visually prepared for it when I approach.
This was my original reason for developing a beard. Since then I've really come to like it. :)
One problem I ran into, though, with having any amount of beard on the side of my face... hmm, how do I put this nicely? Some women are sensitive.... in sensitive places... and the rubbing from a man's beard hair can cause irritation there. So my perimeter beard had to go.
...the geek in me wants to say... it's very "will riker" ...OMG... I can't believe I made that reference. O.o?
(reference an earlier post about nerds etc)
I'm still trying to work out how that should make me feel.....
I know you probably meant after shaving... but on the way to growing it, it used to get bothersome, so i that's when I generally clean shave... then deal with the razor burn... if I'm careful on the clean shave, i don't get any.
now what do men think of that?
With/without...as long as it's neat. Scruffy is not attractive!
My dad has a full beard (well kept) and my partner a goatee!!
Apparently you can live off bananas and Guiness.
Combined, they have all the nutrients required to sustain human life.
Sweeeet.
You don't want to wind up looking like the following
a cast away on an island
grizzly adams
one of the zz top brothers
a prison guard
Ya simply have to take the time to maintain it properly.... if you can't do that DON'T BOTHER.
I've had the gotee but I spent time making it nice :)
and while we're on a hygiene / what women think topic... guys should get manicures too! trust me if you have snaggly, bitten, dirty nails women notice and it so simple to look groomed! trust me they check your nails!
any way off to take out the trash and then head out to dinner
cheers!
Oh and i once had the perfect gotee only it was too well kept and looked unmanly.
otakugeneration why not post a pic of you with it and let us see?
randomglenn - maybe so but did you see the chic grizzly was getting? I'd rather date the bear ;p
I had the Johnny Depp style facial hair for a while the good thing it was prior to him. My side burns change all the time sometimes longer sometimes shorter sometimes none.
