I just came back from a long weekend in Stockholm for my best friends wedding. We stayed in the Radisson SAS Strand Hotel on Nybroplan, fairly central, fantastic place to stay!

It is a 5 star hotel, and a standard room with full breakfast buffet came out at approx £122 per night per room. The rooms are not too tiny, well equipped and there is free wifi throughout the hotel. It has a large dining area for meals, as well as plenty of lounge space for coffee or quick lunches.

The food is excellent, we ended up eating there each night due to commitments regarding the wedding. First night was veal for me, and duck for my husband. 2 meals with 4 drinks came to SEK500 (swedish kroner) which equates to £38. Drinks worked out to be about £7.50 for 2 bottles.

The short time we had to view Stockholm was great. We walked around the Djurgarden, which is a recreational park area, with nice walks, there are a few residents living on this island. If we had more time we would have visited the Skansen museum there.

A great weekend, I would recommend it to anyone looking for a weekend break.

EDIT: website here sas radisson website

Sweden sounds like a lovely place. Japstyle, was this your first visit there? What was it like interacting with the locals?

            I am from Sweden.

I love the place. It has a very low population, beautiful nature (as in healthy) and is pretty strong econimically. Im very glad I grew up here, but I never knew what tourists see in this country :P
