“The beginning of wisdom is found in doubting; by doubting we come to the question, and by seeking we may come upon the truth.”
- Pierre Abelard, French philosopher

Less than one year after JFK defuses the Cuban Missile Crisis and is assassinated:

August 7th, 1964 – Gulf of Tonkin resolution is passed paving the way for full-scale Vietnam invasion.

October, 2005 – CIA declassifies documents admitting the Gulf of Tonkin event never occurred. US Battleship fired upon North Vietnam forces who did not fire back.

January 15th, 1973 – Withdrawal from the Vietnam War. 50,000 Americans dead, over 1,500,000 Vietnamese.

“Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future.”
- John F. Kennedy

April 17th, 1961 – During the Eisenhower administration, the CIA created plans to overthrow Cuba, but based on terrible intel, greatly overestimated the numbers of people that would join them in the revolt (nobody did). JFK was informed during his presidency of the plan and he signed off on it as long as it would not implicate the US. The CIA launches the Bay of Pigs invasion to attack Cuba with pre-planted CIA forces stationed in Guatemala and some air support. Watergate plumber Howard Hunt lead the CIA invasion. JFK was convinced that the CIA set him up, swore he would dismantle the agency and orders Edgar Hoover to investigate. Three heads of CIA are fired while JFK takes the blame.

October 14th, 1962 – Cuban Missile Crisis. JFK orders blockade of Russian ships to Cuba. CIA lets a U2 spy plane slip into Russian airspace. CIA orders camps in Cuba to attack. JFK says his political adversaries “have a collective deathwish for the world.” Russia will disarm if the CIA camps are destroyed. JFK orders Edgar Hoover to investigate and three months later JFK is assassinated.

"In politics, nothing happens by accident. If it happens, you can bet it was planned that way."
Franklin D. Roosevelt

Summer, 1973 - Watergate plumber Howard Hunt arrested. Asked for $1 million from Nixon and talked to reporters admitting he was a “CIA assassin”. On the Watergate tapes, Nixon claimed the FBI investigation on Hunt will “uncover the whole Bay of Pigs thing!” Lee Harvey Oswald repeatedly told police and reporters he was innocent, was shot two days later by Jack Ruby. Jack Ruby allegedly worked for Congressman Nixon in 1947, and was an informant for the FBI. Nixon’s chief of staff, H.R. Haldemann admits the “Bay of Pigs thing” is the JFK assassination. Howard Hunt’s son claims upon seeing images of Ted Kennedy on TV Hunt commented that “we should have finished the job.” (he was referring to the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy and John F. Kennedy Jr.) On a tape recorded in May of 1972, Nixon confided to two top aides that the Warren Commission pulled off "the greatest hoax that has ever been perpetuated." In a 1985 trial, CIA operative Morita Lorenz testified that, on Nov. 21, at a Dallas motel, she saw Hunt pay money to future Watergate burglar Frank Sturgis. She maintained that, shortly after Hunt left, Jack Ruby showed up.

November 22nd, 1963 – JFK assassinated. Before fatal headshot, JFK already shot twice. Driver failed to speed up until 5th fatal shot. Photos and videos around the grassy knoll show bystanders ducking and lying down hearing the bullets whizz by. Howard Hunt and Nixon were in Dallas the day of the assassination, and Nixon tells reporters two different stories a few years apart about him hearing of the assassination. Images of surrounding areas show hundreds of thousands of supporters - Dealey Plaza was surprisingly empty.

In this video you can see a Secret Service agent outraged at being called off of the back of the Presidential car, which has two places for agents to sit on the back of the vehicle.

“Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.”
- Martin Luther King, Jr.

June 5th, 1968 – Robert F. Kennedy assassinated. (LINK)

A surprising number of witnesses and officials involved with JFK, Jack Ruby, the CIA and FBI died due to unnatural causes. (link 'comin)

JFK was probably assassinated for attempting to wrest the power of issuing money from the Federal Reserve back to the US Treasury or for firing the first commissioner of the Federal Bureau of Narcotics Harry Anslinger and his use and support of cannabis.  7 years after his death, Nixon begins his racist and unreasonable War on Drugs.

“Restlessness and discontent are the first necessities of progress.”
- Thomas A. Edison

Hey 7D. Good post, but you have some serious innaccuracies in it -- or at least claims that I have never seen evidence for, and that in fact refute some evidence.

Mind you, I'm philosophically in harmony with your overall message. But I think that the use of innaccuracies opens the door for opponents to challenge an entire argument.

1] The Bay of Pigs invasion was planned in the waning days of Eisenhower's presidency to be sure, but the CIA briefed JFK and his administration prior to the invasion and he signed off on it. (Kornbluh, ed., 2005)

    2. Unless you're referring to the presence of CIA at Guantanamo Naval Base, there were no "secret CIA camps" in Cuba. All of the CIA training camps during the buildup to the invasion, that I've ever read about or heard mentioned, were in the Sierra Madres in Guatemala.

    3. In the interests of truth, I believe you should say "Jack Ruby allegedly worked for Nixon," for I have heard this disputed, I have never read or seen any evidence that proves it beyond doubt, and I have heard it only thrown about (carelessly, I think) by Mark Lane and others without providing any supporting evidence. I'm not saying it isn't true; I'm saying it isn't proven.

    4. I'd love to know who was responsible for the assassination of JFK. I've been reading about it for over forty years now (Warren Commission Report, Bugliosi, Garrison, etc.) and the only thing I'm sure of is that we do not know the whole story. But the LBJ thing rings hollow to me.

Howard Hunt was a far-right radical who hated both JFK and LBJ. He never says, in his "deathbed confession" that LBJ was responsible. He says he believes that LBJ could have been responsible. But then, he hated LBJ. He provides no evidence, there has been no corroborating evidence, and no confirmation by anyone else in government or intelligence.

Like I said, I'm with you in the spirit of this post; but I think that it is important not to make claims that allow others to cast doubts on the entirety of your argument.

    Peace.

Awesome - thank you for clearing me up on the CIA camps. I also read both sides' arguments on the document of Nixon asking for Ruby to not be questioned and am not so sure, but I still find it likely they had some sort of connection. Ruby was involved with the Mob and obviously Nixon had his connections with them as well, including giving Jimmy Hoffa executive clemency on his 13 year term.

I agree that Hunt's LBJ thing is a weak case - JFK had a lot of enemies and I'm sure the blame lies in a pretty big collection of people (including Hunt himself!). Thanks a lot for clarifying my position.
