A new organisation representing former Muslims is to be launched in London tomorrow. In a number of Muslim countries including Saudi Arabia,Yemen, Iran, Sudan and Afghanistan, renouncing Islam is punishable by death, this new forum will speak out against this brutal action.
This item of news, reminds one that there are a number of religions that consider renounciation as a form of betrayal, they will say you are born a............. you must remain a.............., in their view there is no option, your landed with it. This is nothing more than a form of entrapment, surely every human being once they reach maturity, must have a choice, whatever that is, it has to be respected.
