Yeah, yeah, my pet is cuter than yours!
Since I've discovered that so many Woyano people are quite fond of their pets, I thought it was about time for The Woyano Wackiest Pet Contest... which of you Woyanos loves your pet enough to go up against the competition? Well, really, it's not so much a competition as much as a chance to meet the pets behind their Woyano owners!
And behind every good Woyano must be an even better cat, dog, bird, fish, horse, hamster, or heaven help us, snake, lizard, spider... eeekkkk!!!
Even if you only have a pet rock, we want to meet those pets and get to know them. And maybe people will say hello or share their opinions in the comments!
Contest Instructions:
Here's how to enter!
1. Upload a photo of your pet (or pets!) by clicking "Contribute Now" and submitting the picture in your own post. Be sure to include the name of your pet and "The Woyano Wackiest Pet Contest" in the subject line.
2. Give us some quirky details about your pet, see my entry for an example below these rules.
3. Contact Georgie by email or in the comments below this post to notify me of your submission! Give me the link to your post or tell me where to find it, and I will copy your photo to this thread, so it's a one stop place for viewers to browse your pet in the contest.
4. Come back and see how many people have stopped by to give your pet a virtual scratch behind the ears!
Right, I'll start this off with my favorite grumpy-faced friend.

Name: Daisy
Breed: Homeless, toothless bag lady variety. Got her from the shelter.
Age: 12 years
Likes: Fluffy pillows, napping in the sun, dribbling on the sofa, laying on my laptop keyboard, eating cheesy Quavers, well, eating anything really, just eating.
Dislikes: The cat door smacking her bum, the mean cat next door, being picked up, not being fed immediately and on time. Early if possible!
Now it's your turn! Is your pet cuter than mine?
Psst... click the links above the pics to read about each pet's quirks :P

This is Bubba (grey) and rascal (tan) they are 2 and a half year old brothers- who are the best indoor cats a gal could have. They are male- but they don't fight like tom cats- or make messes ..or climb curtains or destroy anything..
They do act as my alarm clock and have the routine down = rascal taps me in the face while bubba jumps on my back- then I flip over and they switch.. bubba hits me in the face and rascal meows..
When i finally get up to shove them out of my room- to get more sleep (the don't understand weekends) Bubba has figured out how to open the door to my bedroom. I love that he's smart like that..but hate that it has to come at 5:30 am.
As the magnet on my fridge says- there is no snooze button on the cat who wants breakfast!
This is Leo, an adorable little Shihtzu, who despite being female was named after Leonardo DiCaprio. (Not by me!) She's 6 now, and unfortunately we're apart while I'm over in the US for a bit, but it's okay since she's living the pampered life back in Japan. My mother-in-law takes her for grooming and a massage at least once a week. By now, I'm sure Leo is hoping I don't come back!
Her favorite time of year is anytime that presents are being opened. As soon as she hears that crinkly sound of wrapping paper, she comes running over to supervise every detail of the unwrapping. She becomes increasingly excited until the last present is opened, which had better be for her or we'll have hell to pay later.
She's a sweet but tough little bitch, who loves intimidating dogs four times her size when out for her walks. Probably her cutest quirk is that you can distract her while she's licking her nose and she'll forget to put her tongue back in her mouth, sometimes for several minutes. :D
At one point in her busy life, she adopted two baby tanuki (otherwise known as "raccoon dogs" in English) that she found somewhere outdoors. We think their mother had died since we saw a dead tanuki along the road the next day. Tanuki are in the canid family, and their faces have markings similar to raccoons.
One of the tanuki didn't make it through the first few hours, but the other thrived on Leo's milk. (How she produced it without having ever had her own pups, I don't know... I guess she has a strong mothering instinct!)
These aren't her tanuki below, but I don't have a picture of them with me in the US.
Rayzgold- I love budgies! Does Freddy talk? When I was a kid we had a blue parakeet (I think that's what we call budgies in the States) and that bird would chirp for hours on end. Filled up the house with chattering and we were never lonely :)
Japstyle- Tommy is a very smart dude. Our cat has figured out that the laptop gets warm after it's been in use for a while and she tries to curl up on it. That, and she can't stand that keyboard getting all the attention and not her... "Why are you looking at that screen and tapping those keys when you could be petting me!" *L*
I told you I could not get a good pic *S*
She is a good dog, great guard dog, although she has been known to scare the Chinese food guy at the door. Sorry hwa ying...lol
I have had her for around four years, and she was a year and a hald when I got her, so that makes her, eh... almost 40... lol...
it's so funny to think about it. My dog is middle aged, almost.
She is most definitely 'my best friend'.
The cliché, the cliché.
Since many people have no idea what tanukiare, if you're lucky you might catch a few of them frolicking via this webcam at a Japanese zoo (may not work on all browsers): http://tinyurl.com/35rgfo
You can move the camera around to some degree, either with the control arrows or by clicking in the part of the picture you want to turn towards.
if i ever have a pet again, it will be a maltese *S*
they are the sweetest, most gentle puppies :)
Hey you know AdGuy always gets the last word! ;)
