Into each life some rain must fall.
You see, I live in Ireland. Summer is upon us and on our green shores we have not seen a dry day here for over a month. Now, this inevitably leads to people carrying umbrellas around. So when the drops start plumetting down there is a rush to get that umbrella out.
I see them as weapons in this case. Nobody gives a f**k about the person next to them, who has just had to duck and dive to avoid having an eye taken out.
There are a number of dangerous umbrella offences. Here are the most common:
- The Launcher
- The Midget
- The Twirler
Sticking an umbrella in someone's hand will see their common sense and empathy of anyone else trying to use the foot path go out the window in their selfish quest to make sure they are safe and dry at the expense of everyone else. So, you see my quest...should some sort of training be implemented for the umbrella holder?
I say; the winds of change are upon us. Let us sway with them towards a more caring umbrella society.

on a serious note - it seems like its so easy for people to forget their manners and at least in the culture i live in - it seems like people make the excuse that its the norm - or everyone else is doing it
like my example i posted on the other thread about comsumerism and selfish behavior - the people on their cellphones while being in line, or in their car - not paying attention to the rest of us!!!!
how rude!
so luckly I have never had a killer umbrella attack. =) *runs off to watch singing in the rain to re-imagine it as a ninja action flick*
I can hear the trailer now... starting out with... "in a storm... no eye is safe! < insert swoosh sound here > "
miss meaniepants!
I know exactly what you mean with the umbrella offenders! I nearly received a black eye while out in the city centre - straining elbows trying to open a stubborn umbrella in a virtual gale!!
Hey you know AdGuy always gets the last word! ;)
