The sky was dark, but it was morning.

The sun hid behind the clouds, afraid to show its face.
The air was frigid and the ground was saturated.
The clunk of heavy boots colliding with the concrete echoed of dull grey buildings.
Then silence.

Shrouded figures stood in the distance, heads hung low, not daring to into the black forsaken sky.
A frozen gust shook the shadows, there heads remained bowed, they prayed in many tongues.
A distant Screech.
A Bright light broke through the darkness.
Was this a beacon of hope?

Or one of Dread?
It arrived, a great steel and iron beast.
It Roar was deafening.
it brought with it more shadows, there heads also hung low.
The shadows move, they became one with the beast.
It consumed all that where present.
It Roar was the sign that it had finished its' meal.

The great beast began to move, it would take the shadows to the great battlefield.

The Battlefield Began to Rise up on the Distance Horizon...

another progressive wrote this poem and I thought it described how many feel about the bush regime here in the USA

(i hope its okay i share this here - as it is my battefield)

      Go Fuck Yourself

Just a simple question that Patrick Leahy asked,
A Senator who was simply doing his task.
About your ties with Halliburton and the stock you receive,
About the lies that you tell and the public you deceived.
A real answer to this question could really help,
But instead you screamed in his face, "Go fuck yourself!"
Is that really a way for a vice president to behave?
By showing bubbling anger instead of being brave.
The media flipped out over Howard Dean going irrate,
But almost completely ignored Cheney cursing and red in the face.

Quit looking for your friends at Fox News when you really need help,
Do us all a favor. Go fuck yourself!

Screaming that out is not a way to act,
Over a simple question of Halliburton contracts.
Don't you know there is a public who cares?
They want a straight answer, not obscenities shouted in the air.

Quit looking for your friends at Fox News when you really need help,
Do us all a favor. Go fuck yourself!

Cool metaphors. I'll have to ponder on this awhile before I respond with my own version.
