There now, something to replace your dream in your mind *s*
Come to think of it, playing dodgeball with weiners might be kinda painful...
The theory is, that sleep is necessary to allow your brain to sift through the stimuli it has recieved during the day. That 'important' stuff is committed to long-term memory; trivial stuff is discarded.
When you're awake, your senses block out a huge proportion of what you experience - if it didn't you'd be overwhelmed by sensation and be functionally useless. So sleep allows the short-term memory data to be processed. What you 'dream', is spillage. Have you noticed that you only remember dreams you wake up in the middle of?
This idea may make the whole process appear scientific or non-romantic, somewhat robotic even. But it does allow you to stop wasting time pondering the meanings of drivel, freeing yourself up to live a little.
Hey you know AdGuy always gets the last word! ;)
