Is the use of medicinal marajuana really alright in Canada? I say for the most part it is accepted but only by marajuana users and those who promote its medical qualities. I do not know a single user who would openly ask their doctor to prescribe pot as their medication even if the reasons for smoking are lagit. Most doctors (around here particularly) wouldn't touch that topic with a 50ft pole, they don't want to be the guy who hands out pot prescriptions or promotes pot being prescribed for a treatment option even though in this nation it is legal for those very purposes. I have arthritis in my knees I have had it since my late teens. I am almost thirty years old just a few years shy of and I am a proud supporter of legal marajuana usage. It helps my knees better than anything I have ever been prescribed better than tenser-bandages or braces ever have it takes the swelling down and relaxes the muscles without making me want to go to sleep in a half hour. It slays me that doctors are willing to slip a packet of pills at you (wich destroy you liver and kidneys but thats ok) but won't consider giving a slip for medical marajuana wich can be taken numerous ways also and doesn't kill off other organs wich many prescription drugs do just that, I have seen people who take loads of meds get negative or inconclusive blood/urine tests in so many words the pills messed up their blood and or organs so much that they could not get a conclusive test untill the meds were not in their system. Its legal here as medicine but you are humiliated or affraid to ask for it in this country even if like me you have a lagitamate reason for wanting that medication. People argue its a gateway drug or a stepping stone for worse things I don't think so. Over long term use it loses potentcy in so many words the body becomes more tolerant of the effects just like any other medication, it should be respected as any other medication is kept out of the reach of children, do not operate machinery or drive just general common sense. The pills I have taken in the past for my knees did far worse to me than marajuana EVER did to me. I would be tired for hours and hours after taking them, sluggish didn't want to do anything the pills just made me a lazy-lump on the couch with sore knees. I can name three things at least that are worse than using medicinal marajuana and more accessable to youth: Alcohol, over the counter cough meds, street chemicals and yep they can be had from home, friends, drug stores, conveinience stores( maybe not the street ready stuff from stores but....) everything to make em can be legally bought by teens there are few restrictions and it makes it easy for just anyone to go buy this stuff. I think the canadian government needs a kick in the bum to wake up, there are more serious things to attack than pot. If its legal here for medicinal use and people are not so ready to ask their doctor because they'll get patronised for asking thats just not right and the government and system need to get their butts in gear and get some lagit places for people to obtain their legal in canada medical marajuana.
