I stumbled across this artical and thought... this has to be seen by other people so as to gauge exactly my place on the scale of feeling more than a little ill at the idea

BERLIN, July 30, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Booklets from a subsidiary of the German government's Ministry for Family Affairs encourage parents to sexually massage their children as young as 1 to 3 years of age.  Two 40-page booklets entitled "Love, Body and Playing Doctor" by the German Federal Health Education Center (Bundeszentrale für gesundheitliche Aufklärung - BZgA) are aimed at parents - the first addressing children from 1-3 and the other children from 4-6 years of age.

"Fathers do not devote enough attention to the clitoris and vagina of their daughters. Their caresses too seldom pertain to these regions, while this is the only way the girls can develop a sense of pride in their sex," reads the booklet regarding 1-3 year olds.  The authors rationalize, "The child touches all parts of their father's body, sometimes arousing him. The father should do the same."

The artical its-self is interesting in its points but.... re :  the above... and a couple of other bits within the artical... umm.... err... am afraid that it generates a big resounding NO!!

According to Der Spiegel, the brochure's been withdrawn because of its possibly ambiguous wording (in particular, because of the bit you quoted -- which could though be a mistranslation).

I can't be sure it was mistranslated, it's just that the account in Der Spiegel is very slightly different (that doesn't prove anything, though)/

        (ewww, yes)

esther, it seems the brochure's not on the web now and as it's been withdrawn, you probably won't be able to get hold of a copy. Here's one German comment I just found (sorry,I didn't make a note of tje Der Spiegel link), if you Google Korper, Liebe, Doktorspiele you'll find a lot more.

found one similar earlier..and the reason they withdrew it is that they got SUED......for being suspicious and ambiguous...

Sued? really? (ambiguous is what I got, but I can see 'suspicious'; why didn't they realise there was a problem?)

(My German's really rusty, so thank you for checking up on it. If I find out anything from anyone in Germany, I'll post again here.)

It amazes me that this actually reached the stage it did, ie being published and distributed as brochures before someone pointed out to the government that indeed someone in the corridors of power clearly needs help.
Like everyone before me on this page I too would like to use the scientific term to define how revolting the proposition is " eeew".

                  Hello,
I am from germany and I have read the whole booklet. There is nothing to be concerned about in this booklet. The booklet gives no guideline how to have sex with children and even the above quoted sentence must be seen in the context of the booklet.
The booklet recommeds to touch the clitoris while the father is washing the child so that the child doesn't get the feeling that this part of it's body is forbidden or dirty. It is also compared to little boys because the genitals of boys get much more attention from the parents.

The booklet was reviewed and evaluated by experts who have complimented this booklet.

Where do ppl come up w/ this stuff. I don't see their logic. a child let a lone a baby could care less a bout their sexualitity .

It is more than a little worrying that this kind of thing would even be conceived... let alone published. A certain type of person could use such things as a weapon, claiming they were only doing what this information told them to do. Truly scary.

To say it again, this booklet does not encourage parents to have sex with their children. The booklet says, that fathers should pay attention to the genitals of a girl, because in comparison to a boy the female genitals get not so much attention as the boys penis gets. This is said to prevent a girl from feeling that her genitals are dirty. If the booklet was on english there would never be such rumors.
