The Burmese junta has stormed the monasteries and beaten monks, one abbot is dead. An unknown number of others are dead. Really, only China can prevent a massacre if protests continue.  There is little we can do, but please sign the petition here or call your politicians

      Well yes, LBP. (Britain has a link because of Aung San Suu Kyi's links here.) Still, Bush's anger will help. And though the Burmese opposition will open the economy up to the large companies, well, unlike the man who wrote the piece below, I feel that they have to do it and must do it.
