Britain should only continue to celebrate Christmas if similar recognition is given to major religious festivals from other faiths, say The Institute of Public Policy Research, a left wing think tank. What a load of rubbish, to start with over 70% of the UK population, profess to be Christians, something like 20% probably have no religious affiliations, so we are left with about 10% practising other religions.

In Britain the Christian church has predominated for over a thousand years, and now some politically correct nut cases want to change this, anyway these days Christmas is less about religion, and more about an orgy of spending and general celebration. But then, perhaps we should have an al-Qa'eda bank holiday, what fun.

This is a Christian country and that is the way it is. if people do not like living in a Christian country let them go somewhere else. There is a vast choice out there. I am not a Christian and i am proud to live here. I also like shopping and giving presents.
