 Hiyas, I know I haven't been exactly busy with updates here, but now I have to write one..

Just so you know, the world cup without England feels like no world cup at all.

Do you remember England-Germany? England-Greece? Such great games, such excitement and joy!

Now, it feels like it just won't be the same, yea, yea, I know we Swedes did make it yesterday, but I can't quite feel the same joy as I would have felt if I knew England were going to the World Cup too. And please, no comments about "it's just a game" or something like that.

It's not. It's sometimes a drama which takes your breath away, or a comedy which makes you laugh like a maniac, there are tears ("tears?" you might say. "Yes" I would respond, "I can easily drag out a couple of memories when I cried of joy, when Arsenal won the double, or England kicked Greece etc..."

But it's never "just a game". Never.

    umm... it wasn't the world cup they were (not) qualifying for. It was Euro 2008!

        World Cup, or Euro...either way sorry to hear your team didn't make it. We Canadians have the same strange attachment to Hockey. Broke my heart when the Oilers lost to the Hurricanes. It still smarts and that was 2 years ago. :)

            but thats the weird thing, i was talking to this canuck the other day, and they were slating the kiwi's for being so "rugby" mad, didn't make sense, the world doesn't revolve around sport, but then suddenly ice hockey came up and and Jekyll went all Hyde on me when i said "its only a game you know"

            Prob didn't help that i referenced their previous comments with a huge grin on my face . . . . .

            You might guess that I am having quite a sheepish look right now.... Of course, it was the Euro... Sorry about that, I don't know where I had put my brain when I wrote that, but I surely will go and look for it right now. And hey, thanks for bookmarking Clemmati, cya :)
