Only one in three hospitals in England and Wales are charging foreign visitors for treatment, they are ignoring government advise, and it's costing the NHS £30 million a year. A third of overseas visitor managers, polled by their association admitted that patients were not routinely asked about their background.
This situation is disgraceful, hospitals are constantly moaning about a lack of funds, on occasions wards are closed down, operations are cancelled. These so called managers should be shown the door. The government should issue a directive, advise is not good enough, all non-EU nationals should be charged for all medical services without delay.
