Josef Fritzl age 73 who imprisoned and raped his daughter over a period of 24 years, fathering seven children. One of the main reasons he gives for his crime was the influence of the Nazi Party in Austria during WW2.
The German nation has quite rightly been condemned for the horrendous crimes carried out by the Nazis in WW2. The strange thing is how Austria has been able to stand in the shadows and largely avoid any censure for it's part in the spread of the death and destruction by the Nazis throughout occupied Europe.
The truth is that the Austrian nation welcomed the Nazi regime with great enthusiasm, Austria became part of Greater Germany. Adolf Hitler was an Austrian, as were many prominent Nazis, Ernst Kaltenbrunner was one of Hitler's top men in the implementation of the mass killing of Jews {the Holacaust] hung at Nuremberg. Seyss-Inquart Deputy Governor General of occupied Poland, responsible with others for the rounding-up and killing of thousands of Poles and Jews, sentenced to death at the Nuremberg war trials. Other prominent Austrian Nazis were Franz Strangl and Otto Skorzeny. Without doubt the Austrian nation adopted the evil philosophy of Nazism, with at least as much relish as the Germans.
