It has been said that if McCain wins in November, it will have a lot to do with racism, I hope this is not so since an election should not be lost because of the candidates colour. But the question has to be asked, if an individual chooses not to vote for a candidate because of his colour, it can be argued that this is their right of choice. There is a big difference between a national racist policy, and that of individuals choosing to vote in a certain way.

If it's OK for someone black to vote for Obama because he is a fellow black, then it is OK for someone _ of any color _ to vote against him because of his color. It's my view that neither action is desirable _ that is, voting for or against him on the basis of color (his, or the voter's), but one has that right.

IN any event, say what one wishes, there is no way that Obama's "race" is NOT going to be a factor. I venture to say it will be a factor for every voter _ plus, or minus, but a factor.

Meanwhile, science has shown that "race" is a false concept _ just another enduring myth like that of Loch Ness's monster or Bigfoot, but with more dire consequences. Prejudice, on the othr hand, is real.

Obama's race is neither here nor there for me. It is not a factor whatsoever. I personally don't like his politics. In addition, I think he is way too inexperienced, and it shows in the naieve (and dangerous) things he says.

If I liked his politics and I thought he would not only be good for our country (rather than outright dangerous), I wouldn't care if he was lily white or green or blue.

Now, for the record, this presidential race has only been about "Race" because Mr. Obama is the one who is always either bringing it up or has friends/supporters who are self-professed racists (Jeremiah Wright, Father Flager...). It's ironic that Obama is the one who claims that the Republican Party will make this about race when no one from that camp has uttered a word about it. It is also ironic that Obama himself has made a campaign strategy of targeting blacks (see Los Angeles Times) for their vote in this election. He is planning on spending lots of money on this too.

Race is definatly going to be a factor, its just impossable to tell how much. It may help him, there could be more people that will vote for him because he is black then people who will vote agenst for the reason. You jsut cant tell.

Personaly i would vote for him for 2 reasons, We need another step in equality, and McCain seems too much like G.W.Bush for me, and i HATE G.W.Bush.
