The Western world and in particular Britain has lost it's moral compass. The Rev Michael Nazir-Ali, Bishop of Rochester [UK] says that we must make sure the Gospel is not lost, since much that is valuable in Western culture comes from it's Judaeo-Christian background,
One does not have to be very religious to realise the importance of a sense of morality, every person needs discipline in their lives, religion for all it's faults did provide this, now it's influence has waned considerably. The great danger is that much of society has no clear sense of direction, the difference between right and wrong has become obscured, that leaves a great moral vacuum. The question is what and who will fill this space, it could be an alien culture that has a strong sense of purpose.

i think people tend to lump those who believe a certain religion or religious people in with having morals and values.
there are plenty of religious people out there that have fake values n morals (none).
what happened to the value of being kind and considerate towards others?
what is with the need for revenge, the need to hate on others? why does some part of society seem happy when someone fails?
why dont we care more for the poor and helpless in our western culture?
those are values. caring, helping and loving those who dont have as much are real values.
wanting universal healthcare for all human beings - thats real values.
