Lord Phillips has said that Muslims in Britain should be able to use sharia law to decide financial and marital disputes, his suggestion that different religious groups should run their affairs according to different rules has triggered warnings that community cohesion could be undermined.
If Muslims or members of any other religion, wish to obey the laws of their faith, they can do so, providing it does not conflict with the laws of this country, there is no need to incorporate alien law into our legal structure, any such attempt should be resisted. Surely the nations most senior judge should be focusing on far more important matters such as youth knife crime, but then that's not really a wishy- washy liberal cause.

Starrman, English common law allows what Lord Phillips says should be allowed; anyone can go to a third party for mediation in civil law matters so long as the law is not contravened, and the 'third party' can include religious courts such as the Beth Din.
Hey you know AdGuy always gets the last word! ;)
