More crime, fewer police, more illegal immigration and a rise in far-right extremism, will be the result of the economic downturn, a leaked Home Office letter discloses. The letter goes on to say " we should expect increased public hostility to migrants" it warns that there could be an increase in far-right extremism, the victims of which could turn to terrorism.
Who are these right-wing extremists I don't see any evidence to suggest that they exist as a meaningful force. Perhaps the warning refers to the BNP, well whatever they are it's certainly not far-right, some of their policies are quite left-wing, such as bank nationalisation.
The sad fact is that when life gets difficult, there is always a tendency to target minority groups, it's human nature, and occurs world-wide. In a democratic country such as the UK, there is a right to protest, and campaign for change. It's pathetic that a government agency should warn of terrorist possibilities, as if to suggest everybody should watch their step. Any minorities with a mind-set that wishes to settle scores, with acts of terrorism, should not be welcome in this country.

Yes they are few, I agree. Relatively, anyway. But the poison they have spread, by means of their and others' lies about Muslims and 'immigrants' -- code for black -- is not insignificant

in that they are like the NSDAP (National Socialist German Workers' Party, Nazi Party) which they resemble in other ways too. (I suggest you read a bit about Nazism, starrman.) The BNP is far right.
Clemmati, you are talking rubbish I happen to be a lay-historian with specialised knowledge of the Nazi Party. Check out my German Workers Party item, you will then understand that the NSDAP were not right-wing, but as their name suggests left wing with Socialist aims.
Look at my woyano WW2 channels, you might learn something. It is an insult to the millions of victims murdered by the Nazis to compare a minor obscure party like the BNP with that evil, get real.

I didn't compare them (as you will see if you read what I said)

bully for you. I've worked with, been friendly with, known well, professional academic historians with specialised knowledge of the Nazi Party. If I wanted reading to add to the reading I did when I studied Nazism in graduate school., I'd ask them.
(But I'll cast an eye over your stuff here -- it won't take long.. Presumably you discuss the history of the NSDAP and in particular, its 'socialist faction', and the 'Rohm Purge'?
Hey you know AdGuy always gets the last word! ;)
