A foreign national who was due to be deported at the end of a six year sentence for wounding with intent and aggravated burglary, is refusing to leave jail. He is refusing to give the authorities any information about himself, and therefore nothing can be done, he might have to remain in prison indefinitely at a cost to the taxpayer of £30.000 per year. Of course out come the do-gooders, The refugee Council say " If someone feels they don't want to be deported so strongly that they are prepared to remain in prison beyond their sentence, then it is likely there are some serious issues at stake " they added that he could be facing hardship or persecution if sent back to his home country.

What rubbish,  he is happy to remain in prison, this criminal no doubt comes from a Third World country, a UK prison must seem like a luxury hotel to him. But the important point is, can there be another country in the world, that allows non-nationals to enter without proof of identity, in other words a passport, even if they apply for asylum, they should not be admitted without a passport. If that regulation were applied this rat-bag would be out of the country by now
